We study the mechanisms underlying ALS and FTD for future therapy development

We study the role of local axonal translation as well as liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS)/aggregation of RNA-binding proteins FUS and TDP-43 in neurodegenerative diseases including ALS and FTD. We also investigate muscle innervation/ALS-induced denervation using innovative methods, all with the aim to identify new therapeutic targets to treat neuromuscular disorders such as ALS.
